The world's largest ship carries more than 22,000 containers and breaks transport records
The ONE Innovation cargo ship transported more than 22,000 containers on a route from Singapore to Europe. It can hold more than 24,000 containers.

Certain ships, due to their massive size, are capable of transporting huge volumes of cargo and are essential to international trade. Many of them can carry thousands of containers.
One of these vessels is the ONE Innovation. Built in 2023 and owned by the Japanese shipping company Ocean Network Express, it is the largest ship in the world and set a transport record in 2025. At that time, it departed from the port of Singapore bound for Europe carrying a total of 22,233 TEU containers.
With this record, it became the vessel that has transported the largest cargo load in a single voyage in the entire history of maritime shipping. Even so, it has the capacity to hold more than 24,000 containers. This achievement came just three years after it was built and first launched in Kure, Japan.
In terms of its dimensions, this vessel, which belongs to the Megamax class, measures just under 400 meters (1312 feet) in length and 61.4 meters (201 feet) in width. It has not only achieved higher operational performance compared with other mega-ships, but has also improved in sustainability and efficiency.
ONE Innovation our very first 24K TEU vessel made it's maiden call in Singapore over the weekend. The vessel is equipped with a state-of-the-art hull design that aims to maximize cargo intake and minimize fuel consumption.

“Strengthens global connectivity”
According to the Ecuadorian Maritime Chamber (CAMAE), this milestone “sets a new standard in the industry and strengthens global connectivity,” while also demonstrating the “potential of modern maritime logistics.” The organization also highlighted the ship’s ability to enhance global connectivity, particularly along the Asia–Europe trade route.
Over the past year, according to data provided by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), global trade in goods and services is expected to exceed 35 trillion dollars, representing an increase of about 7 percent compared with 2024. Asia was the region that contributed the most to the growth of global trade in 2025, followed by Europe.
