Shortly after 6 p.m. on Friday, an air ambulance operated by Med Jets SA carrying a child patient and family members crashed 40 seconds after taking off from Northeast Philadelphia Airport.
The plane crashed into a Philadelphia neighborhood approximately three miles from the runway, and exploded in a fireball that engulfed at least six houses.

It is believed that the plane came down close to the Roosevelt shopping Mall at Cottman Avenue and Bustleton Avenue in the Rhawnhurst neighborhood. The crash was captured by several doorbell and dashcam cameras.
Six people were injured on the ground and taken to local hospitals. Three are reported to have been discharged while three others remain in a stable condition.
Jet Rescue Air Ambulance spokesperson Shai Gold told the Associated Press, “When an incident like this happens, it’s shocking and surprising. All of the aircraft are maintained, not a penny is spared because we know our mission is so critical. We cannot confirm any survivors.”
Flight MTS056, a Learjet 55 air ambulance was transporting a pediatric patient, her mother and four other passengers to Tijuana in Mexico via Springfield-Branson National Airport in Greene County, Missouri, after undergoing a medical procedure for a life-threatening condition Shriner’s Children’s Hospital in Philadelphia.
Unconfirmed reports say that everyone on board the plane perished.
