This is the best way to return products purchased on Black Friday
Here is what you need to know if you are suffering from buyer’s remorse after a Black Friday purchase.
Sometimes, deals can get to a shopper’s head and lead to a bit of buyer’s remorse. If that happens (or happened) to you on Black Friday, here is your best chance of being able to return the product.
Firstly, in some cases, retailers will make sales final for items marked down. Black Friday can be a way for businesses to clear out merchandise. In these cases, you might not have any recourse and be stuck with the product.
At Target, the company’s website states that “most Most unopened items sold by [the retailer] and returned within 90 days will receive a refund or exchange.” However, if an item is opened or damaged and the customer does not have their receipt, the store can deny the refund. This is a pretty standard policy across the industry. Proof of purchase will be necessary, however, if you use a debit or credit card, sometimes that can be used as evidence that the products were purchased at that retailer.
Keep tags on and items in the original packaging
In the case of electronics or clothes, make sure to keep the items in their original packaging and the tags intact. Some stores might return items that have been opened from their packaging, but you will want to check the store policy.
What to do if you find a lower price on an item you purchased on Black Friday
If you find that you made a purchase and another retailer is selling the same item for less, many stores, including Walmart and Target, have price match guarantees. If you take the advertized price from another store to the one you made the purchase of, any show that evidence they might return you the difference. Sometimes, the difference is placed on a gift card, but in many cases, that can be exchanged for dollars.
