This is what KFC Saucy, the new restaurant prototype looks like: It is very different from the original KFC
KFC is launching a spin-off restaurant called Saucy, which will highlight one of the chicken chain’s most popular products, its tenders, paired with sauces.
KFC is attempting to expand its customer base with the launch of a spin-off restaurant called Saucy. The pilot restaurant is located in east Orlando in Florida, and will open its doors on Monday, Dec. 23, 2024.
The new concept will focus on one of the chain’s staples- its chicken tenders, which can be enjoyed with a wide variety of dips. Diners can pair the chicken with a sampling flight of four sauces.
There are 11 flavors to choose from, as a nod to KFC’s signature 11 herbs and spices.
Appealing to Gen Z diners
Boneless chicken wings have risen in popularity in recent years among Gen Z diners. According to data from market and menu research company Datassential, almost half of Gen Z consumers indicated they “love” boneless wings. This is in sharp contrast to Baby Boomers, with only 25% saying the same thing.
A look at the list of sauces also shows that Saucy is bent on attracting younger customers. Datassential finds that nearly 10% of restaurants in the country offer sweet and spicy items, reflecting Gen Z’s increasing desire for heat in food and drink.

KFC’s introduction of Saucy follows the debut of spin-off restaurants launched by other fast food giants. McDonald’s opened CosMc’s a year ago, a concept that spotlights specialty beverages designed to lure a younger crowd.
Taco Bell just recently introduced its own drink-focused restaurant called Live Más Café in San Diego, which offers specialty beverages like “Chillers” and “Agua Refrescas.”
