Tight budget for Thanksgiving? This popular store offers a full meal for 10 people for less than $50
For less than $5 per person, you can enjoy a family celebration with all the classic elements of a Thanksgiving menu
Thanksgiving is just around the corner. It’s one of Americans’ favorite holidays (and probably the least favorite for turkeys). November 28 is the perfect date to celebrate with family. However, food prices have risen in recent months, and what should be a joyful time for everyone could become a burden on the wallet for some.
That’s why some stores and supermarket chains offer baskets of products at special prices so you can put together a delicious menu for 10 people without hurting the family budget too much. This is the case with Aldi, the German supermarket chain, which this week introduced its “inflation-busting holiday meal” priced at $47.00.

What’s in Aldi’s Thanksgiving basket?
First and foremost, the turkey. The ALDI Thanksgiving shopping list includes a Butterball turkey with spices. Now the key question: what size? We’re talking about a 16-pound turkey, but availability depends on the store location, and the size may vary.
We’ve got the turkey. What about the rest? Aldi’s basket includes gravy, rolls, mac & cheese, stuffing, and the ingredients for cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, green bean casserole, and pumpkin pie. The menu is designed for 10 people, so each diner costs $4.70.
Thanksgiving dinner is getting more expensive
These offers and meal packs help families struggling to keep up with rising food prices. A study by the American Farm Bureau Federation found that in 2023, a Thanksgiving feast for 10 cost $61.17, or about $6.12 per person. In 2021, the same menu cost $53.31.
“We worked hard this Thanksgiving to deliver the best value and quality products so everyone can enjoy a traditional meal with family and friends without having to scale back,” said Jason Hart, ALDI’s CEO in a press release.
With these options designed for tight budgets, there’s one less worry this Thanksgiving. Now, all that’s left is for your favorite team to win the game.
