Why Tom Cruise wasn’t at the Oscars 2023?
The leading actor from Best Picture nominee ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ misses the Academy Awards due to his work on ‘Mission Impossible 7′.
On a very special night for the movie industry in the United States, the 95th edition of the Oscars, a multitude of stars are at the Dolby Theatre in L.A. However, at this year’s Oscars ceremony there is a notable absentee: Tom Cruise.
Cruise filming ‘Mission Impossible 7′
Tom Cruise is the main character in ‘Top Gun: Maverick’, the fighter jet-based film which has received a total of six nominations for the Oscar, including Best Film and Best Adapted Screenplay. Cruise however will not be attending the Oscars to see how Maverick performs as he is currently working on his next film, ‘Mission Impossible 7′, which has suffered innumerable setbacks that have delayed its release well past the original date of 2021, as planned from the outset.
Tom Cruise is not at the Oscars, but the sequel to ‘Top Gun’ will be well represented at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, with Jerry Bruckheimer , also a producer of the film, in the room. Top Gun won an Oscar for Best Sound.
