Toyota recalls 300,000 cars: Complete list of vehicles and models
The Japanese car company has been dogged by vehicle recalls in the last six months with another incoming.
If you own a Toyota then your vehicle may be due for a recall, if it hasn’t already had one anyway.
The owners of the vehicles listed below are under a voluntary recall which will be undertaken for free by Toyota. The company announced three new recalls of vehicles:
“Certain parts of the transmission may not immediately disengage when the vehicle is shifted to the neutral position.” The vehicle can “inadvertently creep forward at a low speed when it is on a flat surface and no brakes are applied, leading to an increased risk of a crash,” the carmaker said about the gearbox issue.
The company is still dealing with the recall of more than one million vehicles due to airbag problems. At least 26 people have been killed in the US by this fault since May 2009.
How to check if your vehicle is due for a recall
If you don’t want to wait for Toyota’s notification in late April to find out if you are affected, you can check the Toyota recall website or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration website yourself using your license plate information or your Vehicle Identification Number.
