Is Coca-Cola going to switch to cane sugar in beverages sold in the US?
President Trump announces Coca-Cola will make the switch to cane sugar after years of using corn syrup in their classic drink.
Many claim that classic Coca-Cola made with cane sugar tastes far better than the version sold in the U.S., which contains corn syrup. The recent news from the White House is sure to excite those with this opinion.
Has the change been confirmed by Coca-Cola?
On Wednesday, July 16, President Trump announced on Truth Social that, after speaking with Coca-Cola executives, the beverage giant has agreed to use cane sugar in the recipe for U.S. shelves.
“I have been speaking to Coca-Cola about using REAL Cane Sugar in Coke in the United States, and they have agreed to do so. I’d like to thank all those in authority at Coca-Cola. This will be a good move by them -- You’ll see. It’s just better,” reads the post on social media.
Coca-Cola has yet to confirm whether it will change the ingredient list.
