Donald Trump was scheduled to hold a convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin beginning Monday, with a formal acceptance of his party’s nomination and speech scheduled for Thursday.

That was all called into question after Saturday’s events left the United States in a state of shock. A Shooter fired several shots during a rally in Pennsylvania, hitting Trump’s ear with one. One spectator was killed and two more were critically wounded. It was an event that left a lot of questions and uncertainty about the future, not to mention the security going forward.

As it turns out, Trump is fine and safe and ready to keep on going.

Trump convention in Milwaukee to go ahead

Trump’s campaign and Republican National Committee officials said in a statement that Trump will attend the convention in Milwaukee. The statement said he’s doing well and is grateful to law enforcement and first responders for acting so quickly.

“President Trump looks forward to joining you all in Milwaukee as we proceed with our convention to nominate him to serve as the 47th President of the United States. As our party’s nominee, President Trump will continue to share his vision to Make America Great Again,” the statement read.

After shots were fired at the rally on Saturday, Trump grabbed his ear and ducked down behind the podium. When he stood up, he pumped his fists with blood gushing from the side of his face and shouted “fight!” to the crowd before Secret Service escorted him off the stage and into the motorcade to get medical help.

Trump posted on Truth Social that he’d been shot in the ear. The identity of the shooter is not yet known, but it’s been reported that he was shot dead.
