Two cold fronts are coming to Texas this week: affected areas, temperatures, and when they will arrive
Two cold fronts will move into Texas this week, bringing cooler temperatures along with an increased risk of wildfires.

Texas will experience two cold fronts this week. The first will move through the northern part of the state on Wednesday, while the second is expected to cross northern and central Texas beginning Friday. Looking ahead to next week, a third cold front could move through some areas late Monday night.
According to the National Weather Service, a cold front will continue advancing into North Texas tonight. No rainfall is expected with this system, but sustained winds of 15 to 20 mph, with occasional gusts up to 30 mph, are forecast and will persist through Wednesday night.
These gusty winds will keep temperatures in the mid-50s to low 60s Wednesday afternoon across northern and central Texas. The winds also pose an elevated wildfire risk, especially along and west of the Interstate 35 corridor. Authorities are urging residents to take precautions to avoid sparks and the potential for new fires.
Temperatures are expected to remain cool early Thursday morning. By Thursday afternoon, highs should reach the upper 60s west of I-35, while many locations east of I-35 may struggle to climb out of the 50s.

Another cold front in Texas for the weekend
The National Weather Service also forecasts another cold front for North and Central Texas on Friday. The cold front will bring more gusty winds and an increased wildfire threat to the region during the afternoon.
Thanks to the second cold front, a cool weekend is expected with temperatures in the 50s on Saturday and Sunday afternoon, as well as widespread freezing temperatures on both Saturday and Sunday morning. According to the weather agency, there is no chance of rain until the end of the week.
On the other hand, according to the San Antonio Express-News, some weather models indicate that a stronger cold front could move through Texas on Monday night. This cold front could bring a higher probability of rain and lower temperatures.
