US ELECTION 2024

It’s not one of the top 5 universities in the US: Where did Donald Trump go to college and what did he study?

Donald Trump often touts his career in business as evidence that he can make a difference in the public sector. Over the years, his ventures have seen differing success levels, with some failing, but that hasn’t stopped him from running on his economic knowledge.

When it comes to his credentials, he has them. Donald Trump and some of his children earned a degree from the University of Pennsylvania, an Ivy League institution, in 1968. He began his college career at Fordham University in New York City but transferred to the University of Pennsylvania after two years. He studied at the Wharton School of Business, which is one of the best in the country.

The Philadelphia-based university is ranked 10th by US News and World Report. However, the Wharton Business School, where Trump studied, currently ranks second.

While these educational credentials may be impressive, they might not be a significant motivating factor for voters.

His son, Don Jr, and his daughters, Ivanka and Tiffany, also attended the Ivy League. Like his father, Don Jr. graduated with a degree in economics in 2001. Ivanka‘s path was similar to her father’s in that she transferred two years into her degree from Georgetown University before obtaining a degree in economics. Tiffany also attended her father’s alma mater but earned a degree in sociology before heading to Georgetown for law school.

Eric Trump attended Georgetown University, where he obtained a degree in finance and management. Baron Trump, the youngest of the children, began his first year of university in September at New York University.
