In November, voters will have a chance to voice their opinions on races up and down the ballot.

Since congressional terms are only two years, all voters will have the option to elect or re-elect their member in the House of Representatives. Thirty-four seats in the Senate are up this year, and Democrats are fighting for a stronger majority.

In light of the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, many races thought to be a no-contest for Republicans have become increasingly competitive. Congressman Tim Ryan is polling slightly higher than Republican JD Vance. Similarly in Pennsylvania, Dr. Oz has not managed to gain much traction against current Lieutenant Governor John Fetterman. However, there are still many states where the GOP holds a sizable advantage including Florida, Missouri, and Iowa.

Additionally to make it easier for people to vote, some states have passed laws to send ballots to all registered voters in the weeks before the election. This is the case in California and these upcoming mid-terms will be a good test to see whether or not universal mail in voting actually manages to increase turnout in the Golden State.
