Walmart is the number one retailer in the United States, where it has more than 4,000 stores. This company is a great source of employment in the country, not only for American citizens, but also for immigrants, as it usually supports those seeking to obtain permanent residency in the United States.

According to the company, frontline associates’ wages in the United States are more than $17.50 per hour, more than double the federal minimum wage of $7.25.

“Over the past few years, we’ve introduced higher-paying roles in our stores, raised wages for more than 1 million frontline associates and invested in clearer career pathways that give associates more room to increase their pay as they build a career here,” the company notes.

Although the average salary is $17.50, around $36,400 a year, the company has positions that pay higher salaries, up to $200,000 a year. Here we’ll share some of those and the requirements for them with you.

Associate Optometrist

Salary: $100,000 - $200,000

Their duties include: providing evidence-based eye care to ensure patient health and well-being by recommending and prescribing medications and other treatment options. Providing routine eye care using evidence-based care guidelines.

Additionally, educate patients and store associates about eye health, including contact lens care, disease state management, and safety factors, as well as consult with other health care professionals to prepare patient care plans, observing the scope of practice of optometry as per the state board.

The requirements include:

  • Doctorate of Optometry (OD) from an accredited school of optometry.
  • Licensed Optometrist in good standing in the state of practice.
  • Experience with electronic medical record (EMR/EHR) systems.
  • Willingness to adopt new advanced equipment and instrumentation technologies.
  • Experience in the treatment and management of ocular diseases.

Senior Engineering Manager

Salary: $159,000 - $230,000

The responsibilities of a Senior Software Engineering Manager include leading large-scale, complex, cross-functional software engineering projects and being responsible for the leadership and practical direction of project initiatives and teams from start to finish in tactical and strategic capacities.

Minimum requirements: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer systems, software engineering or related field and 5 years of experience in software engineering or related field, or 7 years of experience in software engineering or related field, with 2 years of supervisory experience.

Senior Data Analytics Manager

Salary: $125,000 - $210,000

The position’s responsibilities include participating in user interviews and requirements gathering sessions led by the Product Manager, Sales leaders, and BI (Business Intelligence) leader to gain a deep understanding of what business problems Walmart is trying to solve, the key questions the reporting tool (Tableau/PowerBI) needs to answer, and how it will fit into the business process to be supported.

Requirement: 6+ years as a business intelligence professional or related role. 6+ years of working in Tableau Desktop or publishing on Tableau Server required. Advanced experience using SQL to extract data, understand data structures, and execute queries.

Additionally, in depth experience in data analysis and reporting with strong spreadsheet (Excel) skills, quantitative modeling and forecasting. Excellent UX design and data visualization skills. Familiarity with Salesforce, Google Cloud Platform, and Order Management System.

Human Resources Manager

Salary: $80,000 - $130,000

Duties include: Leading the execution of Human Resources (HR) practices, systems, programs and policies in assigned areas by collecting and analyzing HR performance data; ensuring consistent application of HR policies and programs; aligning available resources; identifying execution and communication gaps; and providing advisory and consulting services to business partners.

Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Logistics, Business Administration, Financial Management or related field and 2 years of experience as an HR generalist with 1 year of supervising, evaluating, mentoring and developing employees and participating in the hiring and promotion of employees or 4 years of experience supervising, evaluating, mentoring and developing employees, and participating in the hiring and promotion of employees, including one year of experience in managing HR processes.

Pharmacy Manager

Salary: $112,000-$197,000

Requirements: Bachelor's degree in pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree or equivalent from FPGEC (NABP). Pharmacy license and completion of an ACPE-accredited immunization training program (e.g., APhA, College of Pharmacy curriculum, sponsored by the State Pharmacy Association).
