Want to ride like royalty? Queen Elizabeth II’s Range Rover heads to auction: here’s the expected price
A 4x4 once used by the British queen is scheduled for auction in the U.K. later in August 2025.
A Land Rover once owned by Queen Elizabeth II is up for auction in the U.K. later this month, with the vehicle expected to fetch up to about $100,000.
Iconic Auctioneers, an auction house based in Warwickshire, England, is due to sell off the 4x4 on August 23, in an event held at the Silverstone Festival in Northamptonshire, about 80 miles north of London.
When did Queen Elizabeth own the Land Rover?
The 2006 Range Rover 4.2 Supercharged Vogue SE L322 was in the service of the British royal household for just over two years, between April 2006 and May 2008.
According to Iconic Auctioneers, the vehicle includes a range of features that were added on before being used by the queen, who reigned for 70 years until her death in September 2022.
These extras include “side steps, mud flaps, a load-space mat, rear grab handles to assist with entry and exit and the infamous dog guard, all features on Royal 4x4s known to be used by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
“Upon decommissioning the car, the grab handles were removed but the holes are visible under the B-pillar trim with the trim panel replaced.”
Iconic Auctioneers says the Land Rover also received a “smorgasbord” of less visible “bespoke enhancements”.
“These include a host of upgraded internal wiring (completed to an exceptional standard), allowing for the use of external communication and security equipment as well as dual rear window switches,” the company says.
“The work throughout is subtle, thoroughly professional and speaks volumes for the vehicle’s intended purpose at the highest level of national service.”
How much will the Land Rover be sold for?
A car that is said to be in “exceptional condition throughout”, the Land Rover is painted in Tonga Green and has just under 120,000 miles on the clock.
Per Iconic Auctioneers, it is expected to go for between £50,000 and £70,000 ($67,000 to $94,000) at its Silverstone auction.
