West Virginia is trying to attract new residents to the state, and an organization is throwing in some money to sweeten the deal. The Ascend West Virginia Program is offering an incentive of $12,000 in cash for people with remote employment who are willing to move to the Mountain State.

In addition to the money, the state of West Virginia also offers a tax benefit plan to new residents who decide to apply for this offer. The government’s intention is to attract people who have remote jobs, since the main objective is to encourage the economic growth of the state through new taxpayers.

As confirmed by the state government, a total of $25 million has been allocated to the program, provided by two figures from the private sector: Brad D. Smith and his wife Alys Smith, both entrepreneurs native to West Virginia.

The magnates want to promote the state as an affordable one in terms of tax burdens, aside from having one of the most beautiful natural environments in the country.
