Media outlets have been reporting the nature of the crimes allegedly committed by Donald Trump. A source familiar with the details of the case claimed to Yahoo News that the former president will face 34 felony charges on Tuesday.

All counts relate to falsification of business records and are linked to the dealings between Trump and former pornstar Stormy Daniels. Specifically, they relate to $130,000 paid to before the 2016 election to keep her quiet. Trump’s former lawyer Michael Cohen has already been through jail for his part in the business and now it seems his former boss could be following him into the slammer.

People hoping to get a picture of Trump in handcuffs or a mug shot will be disappointed; District Attorney Alvin Bragg has decided the measures will not be necessary. There will also be no video footage of the arraignment process which will begin Tuesday afternoon.

The crimes have been classed as felonies as Bragg increased the severity from misdemeanors, the usual prosecution of similar charges, to Class E felonies. These are the lowest level of felony but must be related to the misdemeanors’ involvement in concealing another crime. This extra information has yet to be released or leaked.

How did Donald Trump respond?

The publication of the report was met with a strong rebuke from Trump on his Truth social platform.

“D.A. BRAGG JUST ILLEGALLY LEAKED THE 33 points of Indictment. There are no changes or surprises from those he leaked days ago directly out of the Grand Jury. No Crime by Trump. What a MESS. Bragg should resign, NOW!” he wrote.#

It was reported that Trump plans to target DA Bragg in the build up to the trial with a source telling The Guardian there are plans to “rough ‘em up”.
