In recent years, the housing market has been difficult to maneuver for prospective renters or owners due to the Federal Reserve’s monetary tightening, which has resulted in a considerable rise in mortgage rates and home prices.

According to various reports, California is the second most expensive state to live in the United States, just after Hawaii. The national average for rent is $1,226. However, in the California, this figure can rise considerably, to the point of reaching twice the national rate. This is the top 10 among the most expensive cities to rent, making them the priciest not only in California but throughout the United States:
