During the vice presidential debate, Donald Trump posted on X a few times. However, only one of the posts was directed at his VP candidate’s comments at the debate. After comments were made on the former president’s view on abortion, Trump posted that he “would not support a federal abortion ban, under any circumstances.”

The moderators asked his running mate, Ohio senator JD Vance, about Trump’s position on a federal ban, but he did not answer. Instead, Senator Vance said that the GOP has lost the public’s trust on the issue of abortion and that the party needed to take steps to rebuild it.

Donald Trump added that his position was like that of President Ronald Regan, who said that he supported exceptions in cases of rape, incest, or the life of the mother. He then attacked what he claims is the Democratic position on late-term abortions.

A sharp turn away from politics

After chiming in on the debate, he posted a tribute to Pete Rose, who passed away on Tuesday. Rose played baseball in the major leagues from 1963 to 1986, and the former president described him as “one of the most magnificent players to ever play the game.”

Trump called on the Baseball Hall of Fame to honor Rose and accept him before his funeral takes place. Rose has been accused of sexual misconduct involving a minor in the early 1970s. The baseball player claimed that he believed she was 16 at the time, as Heavy.com pointed out, would have made the relationship legal under Ohio law.
