What did Michael Douglas say regarding the concerns expressed about Biden?
Michael Douglas is the latest Hollywood star to share his opinion on the concerns being expressed about President Joe Biden’s candidacy for president.
The comments about President Joe Biden’s recent performances continue. After actor George Clooney asked Biden to withdraw from the presidential race, Hollywood star, Michael Douglas, has also shared his reflections on the matter.
Douglas was questioned about it by Page Six at a screening of the documentary ‘America’s Burning’ in New York City. “It’s very hard to speak badly about the man,” said the actor.
“It’s so painful for so many people who really admire him and see what an incredible three and a half years he’s had as president. But I think the tide is turning,” he added.
The ‘Fatal Attraction’ star also said she finds it “heartbreaking” to witness all the discourse about Biden’s poor performance at the debate and that Trump has been smart to sit back and watch the ongoing “self-destructions... cannibalism.” However, Douglas emphasized that the Democratic Party needs to be united. “Either we have to support him and continue or not,” he explained. “And so the Democrats have to get their act together,” he added.

Biden, reluctant to withdraw from the race
Although several Democrats, members of Congress and public figures have called for Biden to withdraw from the presidential race, the president has said that he will remain in the race as the official Democratic candidate to face Trump.
“Let me say this as clearly as I can: I’m the sitting President of the United States. I’m the nominee of the Democratic party. I’m staying in the race,” the president shared on his X account and at a campaign event in Wisconsin last week.
On the other hand, in an interview with George Stephanopoulos for ABC last week, Biden was asked if he would give up the presidential race if he were convinced that he could not beat Trump, to which the president said that he would only do it “if the Lord Almighty comes down” and tells him so.
“Look. I mean, if the Lord Almighty came down and said, “Joe, get outta the race,” I’d get outta the race,” Biden said. “The Lord Almighty’s not comin’ down,” he added.
“I agree that the Lord Almighty’s not gonna come down, but if you are told reliably from your allies, from your friends and supporters in the Democratic Party in the House and the Senate that they’re concerned you’re gonna lose the House and the Senate if you stay in, what will you do?” Stephanopoulos responded. However, Biden evaded the question. “It’s not going to happen,” he added.
