What did President Biden say about his son’s guilty verdict?

The conviction of Joe Biden’s remaining son will be seized upon by Republicans in the run-up to the November election.

After a lengthy trial, Hunter Biden was found guilty on all three gun felony counts and faces potential jail time when sentenced in August.

President Biden has just commented on his son Hunter’s guilty verdict.

“As I said last week, I am the President, but I am also a Dad,” Biden said. “Jill and I love our son, and we are so proud of the man he is today. So many families who have had loved ones battle addiction understand the feeling of pride seeing someone you love come out the other side and be so strong and resilient in recovery.”

Previous statements suggest President Biden will respect the legal process while supporting his son.

Biden’s stance on hunter’s Trial

Prior to the verdict, Biden stated he would not pardon Hunter if convicted, emphasising his belief in the rule of law that seems to be absent from his opponent, Donald Trump.

“As I also said last week, I will accept the outcome of this case and will continue to respect the judicial process as Hunter considers an appeal,” the president said. “Jill and I will always be there for Hunter and the rest of our family with our love and support. Nothing will ever change that.”

Throughout the trial, Biden avoided public discussions and stayed away from the courthouse, labeling it a private family matter. The White House and his campaign team maintained silence, portraying it as separate from Biden’s reelection efforts.
