What does Liz Cheney say about Donald Trump in her 60-second ad? Watch the video here

The former president of the United States is the front runner in the race for the Republican party nomination, but not everyone is a fan.

He’s beloved by millions. He’s possibly despised by many more. What is not up for debate is that Donald Trump grabs the headlines and takes up much of the focus of what’s happening in American, and occasionally global, politics.

Cheney calls Trump “unfit for office”

Polls across the US show him leading the way comfortably as the Republican party select its nomination to go up against the incumbent president Joe Biden in the 2024 elections. And while the idea of another four years of Trump in the Oval Office sends shivers up the spine of every Democrat, it doesn’t sit too kindly with those on his side of the aisle either.

Liz Cheney is one Republican in particular who has been vocal about her dislike for Trump and she has doubled down on this in her latest political advert, in an attempt to derail his campaign. In it, with footage of the 6th January attack on the Capitol Building, she states that he is “unfit for office” and a “risk America can never take again.”

Who is Liz Cheney?

Cheney has been an important figure in American politics and an attorney who served as the US Representative for Wyoming’s at-large congressional district from 2017 to 2021. She was the third-ranking member of the House Republican leadership.

Known by many as the daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney, she has been involved in politics and public policy for much of her career. In 2021, she became a prominent figure in the Republican Party’s internal struggles when she was ousted from her leadership position for publicly criticising former President Donald Trump and his false claims about the 2020 U.S. presidential election.

Despite the backlash from her own party, Cheney has remained vocal in her criticism of Trump and his influence on the GOP, as shown by her latest advert.
