What has Donald Trump said about Kamala Harris? Why did he call her ‘crazy’?

The President of the United States Joe Biden has revealed that he will be pulling out of the 2024 presidential race and has given Kamala Harris, his current vice president, his approval as the Democratic Party’s candidate for November’s election.

Although it isn’t yet a done deal for the 59-year-old to take Biden’s place, as underlined by a statement from former president Barack Obama, she does appear to be the logical choice. Harris has also been publicly backed by the Clintons, among others, and would have immediate access to Biden’s hefty campaign fund.
While there were kinds words for Biden from the likes of Senators Chuck Schumer and Bernie Sanders, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and new British Primer Minister Keir Starmer, criticism was thrown in his direction from elsewhere.
What did Donald Trump say about Biden dropping out?
Republican (former) opponent Donald Trump was inevitably at the head of the queue on Truth Social: “Crooked Joe Biden was not fit to run for President, and is certainly not fit to serve - And never was! He only attained the position of President by lies, Fake News, and not leaving his Basement. All those around him, including his Doctor and the Media, knew that he wasn’t capable of being President, and he wasn’t”.
As expected, the former president reacted to Sunday’s news in a way no other politician would. And Harris, should she be confirmed as Biden’s replacement, will have to get used to it. Although she has already been on the receiving end of one of Trump’s unorthodox tirades.
Trump mocks Harris during campaign rally
Speaking at his rally in Grand Rapids, Michigan last week, Trump referred to Harris as ‘Laffin’ Kamala, his way of mocking the current vice president’s laugh.
“You ever watch her laugh? She’s crazy. You can tell a lot by a laugh. No, she’s crazy. She’s nuts.”
With Biden now (almost) gone, Trump’s focus has already turned to Harris. CNN revealed that the 78-year-old had told them on Sunday the Californian would be easier to defeat in the election than Biden. In just over three months, we’ll discover whether that’s true or not.
