What has Taylor Swift said about Kamala Harris and Donald Trump? Will she endorse either?

The American singer made her opinions on the 2020 candidates very clear but has yet to make any statements ahead of the 2024 election.

Taylor Swift seems to be everywhere these days. Continued album and single successes, a huge tour, and a celebrated film have been major wins for the country singer. But a bigger battle could be up ahead of her, should she choose to get involved.

A tumultuous month in the US election cycle has thrust the vote back to the forefront of minds, despite there still being over three months until polling day. Should previous comments be made again this time around, Swifties can expect comments from their idol about the upcoming ballot in support of Kamala Harris.

Nothing has been said at this time.

How Taylor Swift organised her legion in 2020

In 2020, Swift openly endorsed the Biden-Harris ticket, expressing her support for Kamala Harris’s vice presidential candidacy. She stated that having Biden and Harris in the White House would help heal the country after Trump’s presidency, which she criticised for stoking “the fires of white supremacy and racism”.

Swift has been particularly critical of Donald Trump in the past. In a 2019 Elle magazine feature, she denounced Trump’s rhetoric, writing, “Invoking racism and provoking fear through thinly veiled messaging is not what I want from our leaders”.

During the 2020 election, Swift tweeted that “We will vote you out in November,” directly addressing Trump.

And so it came to pass.

How Swift could vote in 2024

It’s a fairly safe bet that the singer will vote Democrat again, especially considering Trump is on the Republican ballot again. Harris taking leadership of the Democrats could also mean that Swift backs the same horse as 2020. Watch this space for any comments made in the run-up to November.
