What is humanitarian parole in the United States and how long does the process take?
According to the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services, humanitarian parole is “a temporary stay granted for urgent humanitarian reasons or significant public benefit”. It is a legal way to stay in the country without a visa for at least one year. For citizens of certain countries, they can stay up to two years.
To request humanitarian parole you must be outside the United States, have a valid international passport, meet public health requirements, pay for your ticket to the United States and have a sponsor with legal status in the country who can give you financial or any other type of support that is necessary.

If you meet the necessary requirements and want to request humanitarian parole, you must fill out Form I-131 of the USCIS. There is no exact timeline for the process, since the rate of approval will depend on the personal situation of each applicant.

Normally, the parole is valid for one year; however, if you leave the United States before your term expires, the parole will automatically end.
