A bevy of events are planned for Wednesday, the third day of the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The day will get started with a couple of breakfast events and another chance to see the ‘Reagan Movie’, starring Dennis Quaid and John Voight. At 2 pm Citizen United Productions is hosting the world premiere of ‘Trump’s Rescue Mission: Saving America’ at the Miller High Life Theatre.

At the same time ‘Convention Fest: The Official Delegate Experience’ will get underway within the security perimeter around the Fiserv Forum arena in Downtown Milwaukee. That will run until 5:30 pm when the main event of the day will get going, with a number of speakers starting at 5:45 pm until 10 pm according to the RNC calendar.

What is the agenda and who will speak on the third day of the Republican national convention?

The theme for Day Three of the Republican National convention is ‘Make America Strong Once Again’. An official list has not yet been released of who will be giving the speeches on Wednesday but Trump’s pick for his running mate, JD Vance, will be one of them.

The junior Senator from Ohio, serving in the upper chamber since January 2023, rose to prominence in 2016 with his memoir ‘Hillbilly Elegy’. The once ‘never Trumper’, who even said of the GOP contender that he could be “America’s Hitler” in 2016, has transformed into a stalwart loyalist of the former president and wannabe 47th. He says the transition wasn’t spontaneous but gradual as he realized his opposition was based on Trump’s style rather than the substance of his agenda.

A topic that is sure to come up during his speech, and one of the reasons that Trump may have picked him as a running mate, will be America’s involvement in foreign wars. Specifically, US aid to Ukraine which he has vocally opposed. He would likely talk about immigration and securing the US southern border, one of the GOP’s main talking points against the Biden administration.

He may also speak about the criminal trials Trump is facing, one in which the former president has been convicted on 34 felonies, that Vance has said are politically motivated. He could also speak about trade tariffs which both he and Trump, who has proposed a 10% import duty across the board, are in favor of.
