Compared to a federal holiday like Christmas, far more stores will be open on Easter Sunday. This year Easter falls on Sunday 9 April 2023. Unlike Christmas and New Year’s Day, Easter is not a federal holiday. This status makes it easier for employers to require their workers to come in on the religious holiday.
