Christmas is looming large with most shops open on Christmas Eve, but only a few on Christmas itself.
It is mere days to Christmas, but there are still opportunities to pick up late gifts and food for the myriad dishes that need plating up.
Keep an eye out for adverse weather however, as the US is battered by heavy storms.

Supermarket opening times Christmas Eve 2022
Despite the disruption this year, most stores are operating similar hours to last year to minimize the risk of crowds. In general, 6pm is the most common closing time on 24 December.
However, there are some exceptions with Best Buy stores open at 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Target stores will open at 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., the same as last year, and will reopen at 7 am on December 26, closing with their regular hours.
As for the other major supermarket chains:
Costco: Hours can vary, but many stores are open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m..
Walgreens: Most stores open until midnight and open regular hours Christmas Day; pharmacy hours vary.
Walmart: All stores close at 6p.m. and all locations will be closed Christmas Day.

Grocery stores opening on Christmas Day 2022
Christmas Day is a federal holiday meaning, like Thanksgiving, most businesses will be closed. However, there are a few grocery stores that will be opening for reduced hours on Christmas Day, in case you are missing any vital ingredients for your holiday dinner. Bear in mind that the times may vary in different states so it is always worth checking before you head out.
Albertsons: Most Albertson’s locations will be open from 8 a.m. to 4p.m. on Christmas Day.
Giant: Some Giant stores will remain open on Christmas Day, with hours of 8 a.m. to 5p.m.
Safeway: Some Safeway’s will be open on Christmas Day, contact your local store for more details.
