Former president Donald Trump was speaking at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania as part of his 2024 presidential campaign. Several pops were heard that sounded like gunshots before Trump ducked behind the podium. When he stood up, he appeared to be bleeding from the ear. Secret Service agents rushed him off the stage and into his motorcade. Trump pumped his fist as the crowd cheered and chanted “USA! USA!” while he was being guided off the stage.

What did President Biden say about the Trump shooting?

When U.S. President Joe Biden heard about the shooting, he was leaving church in Rehoboth, Delaware. He spoke to reporters and told them he had not yet been briefed on whatever had happened at the Trump rally. He said that he is “grateful to hear that he’s safe and doing well”.

He later issued a formal statement condemning the violence that occurred at the rally.

“There’s no place for this kind of violence in America,” Biden said. “We must unite as one nation to condemn it.”

“I’m praying for him and his family and for all those who were at the rally, as we await further information.”

Trump and Biden are in a close election rematch with the polls showing them in a very close match. Biden’s performance against Trump in a debate a few weeks ago went terribly and many Democrats are calling for him to step down, criticizing his mental capabilities at his old age. Biden insisted he would stay in the race.
