Are you worried about the future? Costco seems to think that enough of its customers are, as it has begun selling an ‘Apocalypse dinner kit.’ The food sold in the kit lasts for twenty-five years. Readywise, the company that produces the kit, sells a variety of packs. The $99 option includes 150 meals, 80 “heart entrees and sides,” 30 breakfasts, and 40 beverages. “ReadyWise equips you for a range of situations,” says the company describing the kit.
What entrees does the pack include?
Those who purchase the kit will enjoy twelve servings of Pasta Alfredo and Cheesy Macaroni. In addition, the pack includes six servings of Teriyaki Rice, Creamy Pasta and Vegetables, Potato Pot Pie, Tomato Basil Soup and Pasta, and Chicken Noodle Soup. Each packet has between 200 and 270 calories.
There are also ten packets of white rice, which allows for some versatility.
Does the pack include any gluten-free options?
Yes. The Teriaky Rice, Potato Pot Pie, and Tomato Basic Soup with Pasta are gluten-free.
What breakfasts are included?
The kit contains twelve servings of Brown Sugar and Maple Multi-Grain packets and Apple Cinnamon Cereal, along with six servings of crunchy granola.
A look at the deserts and drinks
Along with sixteen servings of Vanilla Pudding, you will find twenty-four servings of Whey Milk Alternative and sixteen servings of Orange Drink.
Looking for a bigger kit?
You can buy the same kit, but instead of 150 meals, it includes 5,400 servings from Costco, which retails for $2,999.99.
