ANDREW TATE

What’s next for Andrew Tate after being charged with rape and human trafficking? Will he return to prison?

Despite being originally charged in December, the brothers may not have a resolution to their rape case for years in Romania.

Romanian prosecutors have finally brought indictments against the infamous influencer Andrew Tate and his brother, Tristan. The crimes include human trafficking, rape, and involvement in a criminal organization.

This confirmed the formal indictment of the Tate brothers, alongside two Romanian suspects. The unfolding legal proceedings began with their arrest in Romania last December, where they remained in police custody until March.

The brothers appeared in court on Thursday morning in the Romanian capital.

A trial is not expected soon and a resolution could be years away.

The media team for the Tate brothers said, “While this news is undoubtedly predictable, we embrace the opportunity it presents to demonstrate their innocence and vindicate their reputation.”

The seriousness of these charges leaves many wondering what the next steps are and the ultimate consequences.

The jail time the Tate brothers could face in Romania

The case will now be sent to the Bucharest court’s preliminary chamber. A judge will have 60 days to ensure everything is in order and legal.

If the brothers are found not guilty then that will be the end of their legal troubles, for now. So far they have been in prison as well as house arrest as the Romanian judiciary continued to extend the period of investigation.

However, if they are found guilty then serious punishments will be levied out with extensive jail time. Trafficking of adults carries a prison sentence of up to 10 years, as does rape.

For the charge of involvement in a criminal organisation, EU law dictates that member nations, of which Romania is one, must have at least two years of prison time.
