What’s open on Halloween 2023? Times and schedule today of Walmart, Costco, banks...
Trick or treaters rejoice, for spooky season is upon us! Many organizations will remain open for Halloween because it is not a federal holiday.

For fans of the ghoulish and the ghostly, Halloween is a major day in the calendar and the date that kick-starts the holiday season. It’s the second-biggest commercial holiday after Christmas Day, with Americans expected to spend $12.2 billion on costumes, candies, and parties this year.
But unlike upcoming celebrations like Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day, Halloween is not a federal holiday. As such, most stores and places of business will be staying open on Tuesday, 31 October.
Almost all businesses and essential services will be following their usual operating hours, so you have a chance to pick up any last-minute Halloween costumes and stock up on treat-or-treat goodies.

Monday, 26 December - Christmas Day
Note that this year the ‘holiday’ day for Christmas is on 26 December. That is because Christmas Day falls on a weekend, when most workers would not be required to work normally. As such, the federal holiday day is shifted to the Monday, 26 December so workers do not miss out on the holiday day.
