ELECTION 2024

When does early voting begin in Washington?

It is essential for voters to ensure their registration details are up-to-date, especially if they have moved or changed their name since the last election.

As voters in the US Presidential Election go to the voting booths today there have already been record numbers of votes recorded, blowing away 2016 early voting.

Early voting in Washington State begins on October 18, 2024, and continues until 8 p.m. on Election Day, which is November 5, 2024. During this period, voters can cast their ballots in person at designated voting centers across the state. All registered voters will automatically receive a mail-in ballot, which they can choose to return by mail or drop off at designated locations by the same deadline.

Registering to vote in Washington is straightforward and can be done in several ways.

Online registration

Voters can register online through the Washington Secretary of State’s website. To do so, you must have a current Washington State driver’s license or ID card, or provide the last four digits of your Social Security number.

The online registration deadline for the upcoming election is October 28, 2024.

By Mail

To register by mail, download and complete a voter registration form from the Secretary of State’s website. Mail your completed form to your county elections office, ensuring it is received by the deadline of October 28, 2024.

In-Person Registration

Voters can register in person at their county elections office or at any voting center starting October 18, 2024, up until 8 p.m. on Election Day. If registering on Election Day, you will need to provide identification such as a driver’s license or another form of ID that verifies your identity and address.

Additionally, Washington allows pre-registration for individuals aged 16 and 17, who will automatically be registered when they turn 18.
