The Powerball jackpot has now reached $202 million after there were once more no winning tickets in Monday’s draw.
There will again be a roll-over jackpot in the next Powerball draw, after there were no tickets that matched all six numbers on Monday. The estimated jackpot now stands at $202 million, with a cash value of $119.5m.
When does the next Powerball draw take place?
The next Powerball draw will be held on Wednesday 3 August 2022, at 11:59pm ET/10:59pm CT/8:59pm PT.
Where can you buy a Powerball ticket?
You can pick up a Powerball ticket at most gas stations, drugstores and grocery stores. Locate your nearest sales point using the Lottery Places app.
In some areas of the US, you also have the option of buying your ticket on the internet. AS USA found the option of playing Powerball online on the official lottery websites/apps of the following states and federal districts: Georgia, Kentucky, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Jersey, North Carolina, North Dakota, Pennsylvania, Virginia and the District of Columbia.
How to play Powerball
A single regular Powerball ticket costs $2. To play, choose five numbers from 1 to 69 and a Powerball number from 1 to 26. If your six numbers come up in the Powerball draw, you win the jackpot. Steadily smaller prizes are also available if some, but not all, of your numbers match those drawn.
Power Play and Double Play
For an additional $1, Power Play allows Powerball players can to multiply their winnings by two, three, four, five or 10, depending on the multiplier number selected during the draw. Power Play isn’t applied to the jackpot, though, and the $1m second prize is never multiplied by more than two.
Available in 13 states and territories, Double Play also costs an extra $1, and sees your Powerball numbers entered into a second draw, which comes with a maximum jackpot of $10m. Double Play is an option in: Colorado, Florida, Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee and Washington.

Why are there two Powerball jackpot amounts?
Powerball jackpot winners get the full amount if they opt to receive their prize money in annual payments lasting for 29 years. The lower, cash value figure is what winners get if they choose to be paid in an up-front lump sum.
