When will I receive my vote by mail ballot 2022?
Voters have already begun to receive ballots, when will the remaining be sent, and by when do they need to be returned?
The 2022 Mid-Term elections will take place on Tuesday, 8 November. Those who would like to vote by mail should have or will be receiving their ballot any day now.
The dates listed below represent the dates by law that ballots should be sent. If you have yet to receive your ballot, it would be advised to contact your county election officials.
Typically, mail-in ballots must be postmarked by election day or can be handed in at any polling location.
While the following list will dictate when mail-in ballots are sent, but voters should be aware that many states require those who wish to vote by mail to request a ballot by a specific date. To identify that date, one can consult the Secretary of State’s website.
Alabama
Ballots in Alabama are sent fifty-five days before the election, and an absentee ballot can be requested until 1 November by mail and 3 November in person. All absentee ballots must be postmarked by 7 November or turned in to an Absentee Election Manager in person on 8 November.
Alaska
Voters in Alaska who have requested an absentee ballot should receive it by 29 October.
Ballots can be requested until 29 October and must be returned by election day.
Arizona
Absentee ballots in Arizona will be sent anywhere between twenty-four to twenty-seven days before the election.
Arkansas
Arkansas sends ballots out quite early, with voters being able to expect them around forty-six days before election day.
California
All registered voters in the Golden State will receive a mail-in ballot around twenty-nine days before the election.
Colorado
Voters in the Rocky Mountain state can expect their ballots anywhere between eighteen and twenty-two days before the election.
Connecticut
Registered voters should have already received their ballots as they are typically sent thirty-one days before election day.
Delaware
Ballots are sent two months before the election.
