When will ‘Ted Lasso’ season three be released? Is it the last season?

If there’s one TV series that’s got everyone waiting for more and no, we’re not talking dragons or serial killers, it’s got to be “Ted Lasso.”
“Ted Lasso” Season 3 is coming, but do we have a release date?
It’s been more than a year since the last season of “Ted Lasso” which if you didn’t know, was Season 2. Assuming you’re a fan, you already know this and you’re also probably at the end of your rope in terms of waiting for Season 3. Heartwarming, hilarious, emotional, these are just a few of the common words you’ll hear being used to describe the hit show. With that in mind, one can imagine that the anticipation surrounding when the third season will be released is intense. So, what do we know about it?
For starters, there is no official release date for the third season of “Ted Lasso.” Indeed, Apple TV+ has yet to give us clarity. On the other hand, there are a few things that we do know about the coming season, such as the fact that filming began in London on March 6th of this year. Additionally, we also know that the season will likely run for 12 episodes. Aside from those two points, what we can say is that relative to the previous two seasons which were aired in August 2020 and July 2021 respectively, Season 3 will obviously have a later date of release. The general belief, is that we’ll be seeing a release date in November of this year.
Is “Ted Lasso” season 3 the last season in the series?
Unfortunately, it would appear that “Ted Lasso” season 3 will in fact be the final season for the hit series. According to Brett Goldstein, who is both a writer on the show and the actor who plays Roy Kent, the season is being written as the final chapter. Actress Hannah Waddingham, or as fans know her ‘Rebecca Welton’ seemed to confirm the notion.
Yet, it must be said that there are countless opportunities for spinoffs here and to be frank, none of the cast has denied - or confirmed - the possibility. What we know is certain, is the fact that “Ted Lasso” is one of Apple’s most popular series on their streaming platform. It stands to reason, that they won’t simply say goodbye to a world of characters that have seen so much success. What could an offshoot of the series look like? Who can say, but rest assured it wouldn’t be a surprise in the least.
What will we see in Season 3 of “Ted Lasso?”
It goes without saying, that we can’t say for sure what we’re going to see in season 3, however, it would be safe to assume that we will see a few plot lines come to a close. If you don’t want any spoilers where Season 2 is concerned; this would be the time to stop reading.
Off the bat, we know that with AFC Richmond back in the Premier League and Nate the coach of a Rupert owned West Ham, we’re definitely in for an emotional ride. Though it’s tempting to believe that the series could go for a typical cliche of a Cinderella run to the Premier League title for Richmond, we’re expecting something more in the line of a FA Cup trophy, especially given how close the Greyhounds came last season. Ultimately, expect to see the conclusion of the battle between Ted and Nate, as well as Rebecca and Rupert. There’s also the relationship between Roy and Keeley in addition to that of Sam and Rebecca. One scenario that we’re looking forward to seeing, is that of Ted’s past and how he comes to grips with it. In the end, these are just a handful of the stories we’re looking forward to seeing more of, but if there’s one that thing that’s certain, it’s that we can’t wait!
