Where is the Ketchup boat guy? Heinz is looking for the sailor who survived 24 days lost at sea

Dominican sailor Elvis Francois was lost at sea with only tomato sauce for company. The company wants to pay back the trust in their product.

Heinz is a well-known company for the production of ketchup and baked beans. However, the company inadvertently created headlines after a sailo,r lost at sea for 24 days, survived on stock cubes and Heinz ketchup alone.

47-year old Elvis Francois was thrown into the Atlantic ocean when poor weather pulled him and his boat out to sea. Lacking the navigational knowledge, Francois floated helplessly until spotted by an aircraft.

“I had no food. It was just a bottle of ketchup that was on the boat, garlic powder and Maggi (stock cubes) so I mixed it up with some water,” Francois said.

Since his return to Colombia, Heinz has sent out a request for information on his whereabouts with a special offer.

Heinz makes saucy pledge to sailor

Announced on Instagram, the company said they want to buy Francois a new boat. However, the yare finding it difficult to track him down. They have already contacted the Dominican government and the Colombian army

The retailer is now “asking the general public to try and help with the hunt,” according to a statement sent to CNN.

We’re also asking for any credible leads to contact Elvis so we can help cover a new boat equipped with full navigational technology to avoid another disaster in the future,” added the company.

Heinz suggested people use the hashtag #FindTheKetchupBoatGuy.
