Where was the winning $215 million Powerball ticket sold?
If you believe that lightning can strike the same place twice, maybe you’d like to buy a Powerball ticket where the one that won $215 million was sold.
After Monday’s drawing, the Powerball jackpot of $215 million has been won. The lottery announced that the winner bought the ticket in a Florida store, but the prize has not yet been claimed.
The winning ticket was purchased at Publix, located at 9050 Biscayne Boulevard, in Miami Shores. The winning numbers for the Powerball drawing on May 6 were: 7–23–24–56–60 and 25 (Powerball).
This is the third time the Powerball jackpot has been won this year. The mammoth prize was won exactly one month before on April 6, in Oregon, with one ticket winning the $1.3 billion jackpot.
The lucky holder of the winning ticket will be able to choose between an annualized prize of $214.9 million or a single cash payment of $100.1 million. Both prize amounts are before taxes. If the winner selects the annuity option, they will receive an immediate payment followed by 29 annual payments that increase 5% each year.

How is Powerball played?
To participate in the drawing, players must purchase a ticket in one of the accepted areas, which are most states in the country and Puerto Rico. When purchasing a ticket, participants must choose six numbers, five corresponding to the white balls, between the numbers 1 and 69, and one more corresponding to the red Powerball, between 1 and 26.
To win the jackpot, you need to match the six numbers that appear on the white balls and the red ball on the day of the draw. However, participants with fewer matches can still win prizes, from $4 up to a million dollars, so if you don’t match all six numbers in the draw, you still have a chance to win a smaller amount.

When are the Powerball drawings held?
Powerball drawings take place three times a week: every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. ET (9:59 p.m. CT/7:59 p.m. PT) from the Florida Lottery drawing studio in Tallahassee.
Tickets can be purchased in almost every state in the country, except for Alabama, Nevada, Utah, Hawaii and Alaska. This lottery is also available in Washington D.C., the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico. The cost of the standard ticket is $2.
The cut-off time to purchase tickets for this lottery, whether in person or online, is within one to two hours before the scheduled drawing. However, this could vary from one jurisdiction to another.
