Which people will receive their Social Security payment in the first week of May?
The Social Security Administration will send two payments in the first week of May. Here’s which beneficiaries will receive them on 1 and 3 May.
The Social Security Administration (SSA) has finished sending payments corresponding to the month of April and is now preparing to disburse benefits for May to retired workers, survivors, Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI).
According to the payment schedule, the SSA will send two payments or checks during the first week of May and the rest, as usual, on the second, third and fourth Wednesday of the month. Additionally, it will send an advance payment that corresponds to the month of June to certain beneficiaries. Here the details.
These beneficiaries receive their Social Security payment in the first week of May
On Wednesday, May 1, the SSA will send beneficiaries of the Supplemental Security Income their payment. On the other hand, on Friday the 3rd, payments will be sent to the beneficiaries who began receiving their payments before May 1997.
As for the rest of the Social Security payments for May, including those for retired workers, survivors and SSDI, three sets of payments will be made over three weeks. On Wednesday the 8th, money is sent to beneficiaries with a date of birth between the 1st and the 10th.

On Wednesday the 15th, payments are sent to beneficiaries with a date of birth between the 11th and the 20th, while on Wednesday the 22nd, the benefits are sent to those born between the 21st and the 31st.
Finally, on Friday the 31st, SSI beneficiaries will receive their payment corresponding to the month of June, since the first day of said month is a Saturday, so the payment is advanced.
