Who are the women in white dresses following and assisting Queen Camilla at the Coronation ceremony?

King Charles III and Queen Camilla had their hands full at the Coronation ceremony. All of those crowns, gowns and long capes were not easy to get around in so help was needed. The Ladies-in-Attendance were there to make sure the newly appointed Queen was able to carry out her royal duties and properly wear her crown and other vestments.

One of the Ladies-in-Attendance, formerly known as Ladies-in-Waiting, had a similar appearance to Queen Camilla. The resemblance is due to the fact that she is Annabel Elliot, 74, Camilla’s sister. She is an interior designer and antiques dealer and mother of Ben Elliot, politician in the Conservative Party.

The other assistant is a lifelong friend, Lady Landsdowe, 68, married to Charles Petty-Fitzmaurice, 9th Marquess of Lansdowne. Professionally known as Fiona Shelburne, she is also an interior designer. “She is fiercely loyal to friends and that will be reflected in who goes to the big day. She wants to be loyal to the people who’ve stood by her,” she said in an interview to the Times.

The Lady-in-Waiting also commented on Harry’s autobiography ‘Spare’ and how it affected Camilla: “Of course it bothers her, of course it hurts. But she doesn’t let it get to her. Her philosophy is always, ‘Don’t make a thing of it and it will settle down – least said, soonest mended.’”
