Some of those accused of co-conspiring with former president Donald Trump in his attempts to overturn the 2020 election results in Georgia have surrendered to the authorities, including David Shafer, Cathy Latham, Ray Smith, and Ken Chesebro.

Trump is expected to turn himself in on Thursday to face his fourth criminal indictment in 2023.

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis has given the 19 defedants until noon on Friday to surrender to the county jail.

Alongside Trump, there are 18 other defendants accused of unduly influencing the election results in Georgia in the 2020 presidential election.

While all are charged for different crimes, all have been indicted on RICO charges, usually used for tackling organized crime.

Rudy Giuliani

Giuliani served as the Mayor of New York City from 1994 to 2001 before becoming an advisor to former President Donald Trump during his administration.

He was also Trump’s personal attorney and played a significant role in various legal matters, including the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election and the subsequent impeachment proceedings against President Trump.

Ironically, Giuliani became famous for his use of RICO statutes to beat the power of the mob while he was a federal prosecutor in the 1980s, a charge he now finds himself on the receiving end of.

John Eastman

Eastman gained significant attention during the 2020 presidential election, serving as one of the attorneys representing then-President Donald Trump’s campaign.

He was involved in legal challenges to the election results in various states, alleging widespread voter fraud. However, these legal challenges were unsuccessful and the election results were confirmed by multiple courts and authorities.

Sidney Powell

Powell is an attorney and former federal prosecutor. She alleged that voting machines and software were manipulated to switch votes from Donald Trump to Joe Biden during the 2020 presidential election.

Powell also faced several defamation lawsuits from Dominion Voting Systems and Smartmatic, two election technology companies, over her false claims regarding their involvement in election fraud

Jeffrey Clark

Clark served as the Acting Assistant Attorney General for the Civil Division in the Department of Justice (DOJ) during the last weeks of the Trump administration.

In January 2021, The New York Times reported that Clark had been involved in a plan to use the DOJ’s power to cast doubt on the results of the 2020 election and potentially overturn the election results in favor of then-President Donald Trump.

Kenneth Chesebro

Chesebro is the least well known of the bunch, those names that are known anyway. The indictment references an “email memorandum” that Co-Conspirator 5 “sent” to Giuliani on 13 December, 2020, an email that was made public by the House select committee that investigated 6 January.

His LinkedIn has him listed as an attorney.

Mark Meadows

Meadows is an American politician who served as the White House Chief of Staff under President Donald Trump from March 2020 to January 2021.

Before becoming Chief of Staff, Meadows was a Representative for North Carolina’s 11th congressional district and was part of the ‘Freedom Caucus’.

Jenna Ellis

Ellis gained prominence for her role as a legal advisor during the Trump campaign’s efforts to contest the 2020 election results, being a member of the legal team that filed numerous lawsuits challenging the results in Georgia.

David Shafer

Shafer is an American politician who is the chairman of the Georgia Republican Party.

Ray Smith III

Ray Smith III is a lawyer who represented Trump in Georgia election challenges and was indicted for allegedly lying to a Georgia Senate committee.

Robert Cheeley

Another Trump lawyer, he is accused of lying to the Georgia grand jury. He is the only defendant charged with perjury.

Michael Roman

The indictment claims Roman was in touch with those organising a meeting of the fake Trump electors in Georgia. He was a part of the Trump 2020 campaign.

Shawn Still

Still is a member of the Georgia Senate.

Stephen Lee

The Illinois police officer is accused of travelling to the home of Ruby Freeman, a Fulton County election worker, “with intent to influence her testimony”.

Harrison Floyd

Harrison Floyd, who has served as director of Black Voices for Trump, is accused of recruiting Stephen Lee to arrange a meeting with Freeman and Chicago-based publicist Trevian Kutti.

Trevian Kutti

Kanye West’s former publicist was involved with Floyd in forcing Freeman to falsely confess to election fraud.

Cathleen Latham

Cathy Latham is one of 16 Georgia Republicans who signed a certificate falsely stating that Trump had won the state and declaring themselves the state’s “duly elected and qualified” electors.

Scott Hall

He was purportedly engaged in taking control of voting data owned by Dominion Voting Systems.

Misty Hampton

Hampton is accused of allowing people to tamper with the 2020 election results in Coffee County.
