Who is performing at Lollapalooza today 28 July? Headliners, schedule, times and line-up

Lollapalooza kicks off today, the first of four days of an eclectic mix of music with over 170 artists in total taking place in Chicago’s Grant Park.

Lollapalooza is back, Thursday 28 July kicks off the four-day music extravaganza that will feature over 170 artists spread across nine stages in Chicago’s Grant Park. This year there are no covid restrictions to enter the music festival, but if you are unvaccinated it’s recommended that you wear a mask.

The main headliner of today’s four dozen performances is Metallica on the T-Mobile stage. Also topping the list are Billy Strings, Caroline Polachek, Jazmine Sullivan, Lil Baby and Zhu. Here’s a look at the lineup of who’s performing and where.

Kidzapalooza Stage

Children 10 and under are allowed in for free with access to Kidzapalooza. Almost a dozen bands will perform on a ninth stage in Grant Park southeast of Buckingham Fountain along Lake Shore Drive next to the Bonus Tracks Stage. There is also other entertainment and workshops available for attendees’ young ones.

Bud Light Seltzer Stage

Lollapalooza always attracts some of the biggest names in music and gives attendees a range of sounds to pick from. Here’s who will be appearing on the Bud Light Seltzer Stage located at the north end of Grant Park backing up against Monroe Street.

Tito’s Handmade Vodka Stage

Across the way, when the music goes silent on the Bud Light Seltzer Stage it will come to life on the Tito’s Handmade Vodka Stage.

Grove Stage

Labeled Discord on the map the Grove Stage will present concertgoers with some up-and-coming artists as well as established performers. The stage is located behind the Tito’s Handmade Vodka Stage and across from the BMI Stage.

BMI Stage

Northeast of Buckingham Fountain along Lake Shore Drive you’ll find the BMI stage. This stage will provide an eclectic mix of sounds for concertgoers to take in.

Solana X Perry’s Stage

Located at the southwest end of Grant Park between Columbus Drive and the tracks is the Solana X Perry’s Stage. Throughout the day a number of DJs and electronic groups will take the stage.

Zhu

Coinbase Stage

Some of the biggest acts will be taking place on the two stages located at the south end of the park on Thursday with the music going back and forth between the two. The Coinbase stage will have five performances on Thursday with Ashinikko wrapping up the night.

T-Mobile Stage

The other main stage at the south end of Grant Park is the T-Mobile stage which will feature each day’s headlining act along with a number of principal performers for the four-day music festival.
