Who are the ones to watch at Lollapalooza on Friday?

Festivals are a great place to fall in love with new artists and one who could acquire some new fans is Mahalia, the British singer-songwriter who surged to prominence in the UK with 2018 track ‘I Wish I Missed My Ex’. Her combination of soulful voice and incisive lyrics will be on show at the Bud Light Seltzer stage from 2:45pm.

Later that afternoon indie three-piece Muna will be bringing their far-reaching tastes and eclectic inspirations to the stage. The Los Angeles-based trio released their self-titled third studio album last month and it has garnered numerous positive reviews. Their mixture of synth-pop and country rock provide the perfect backdrop for the band’s catchy lyrics. To catch Muna at Lollapalooza, head to the Discord stage at 5:15pm.

Friday, 29 July is Dua Lipa day with the British-Albanian songstress likely to be the biggest draw. She will headline the T-Mobile stage from 8:45pm and always offers an unforgettable show. From humble pop star beginning, Dua Lipa followed up her early success with the wildly successful album ‘Future Nostalgia’ which dropped in 2020. With clear dance, house and disco influences she’s guaranteed to kick of the weekend proper.

But if you are in the mood for something a little different, Machine Gun Kelly will be lighting up the Bud Light Seltzer stage from 8:30pm until close on Thursday. The rapper, singer and musician has had a resurgence in recent years and his fifth studio album, ‘Tickets to My Downfall’, debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 in 2020.
