The Academy Awards will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, his third time hosting the awards. Although it was already public knowledge he would be returning, that did not stop a Top Gun-themed hype video to reintroduce himself to the Oscars faithful.

Being invited to host the Oscars for a third time is either a great honour or a trap,” Kimmel said in November last year. “Either way, I am grateful to the Academy for asking me so quickly after everyone good said no.”

The ceremony is the 95th in the organisation’s history. Bill Kramer, the CEO of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, said: “All I will say right now is that our anniversary, the 95th Oscars, is extremely important to us.

“I think it sets a really interesting rhythm for our 100th. You see this in the museum. I think we are able to celebrate our legacy while bringing the Academy into the future and the show will reflect that.

When and where are the Oscars?

The awards ceremony will be held at Ovation Hollywood, the renamed Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, on 13 March, 2023 at 8 p.m. ET.

‘Elvis’, ‘Tár’, ‘The Banshees of Inisherin’ and ‘The Fabelmans’ are all up for Best Picture. However, the favorite is a movie that has caught a lot of attention this year in other awards, ‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’.
