Musician and TikTok star Gabbie Hanna sparked concern online after posting a series of more than 100 videos in the space of just 24 hours earlier this week.

According to TMZ, officers from the Los Angeles Police Department carried out a welfare check on the 31-year-old after being alerted by her followers that she had been posting erratically online. The famous TikToker nicknamed ‘TraumaQueen’ on the site has more than 7 million followers.

In the videos, most of which are only a few seconds long, Hanna alternates between hysteric laughter, crying and shouting. In one clip she told followers that she believed someone had broken into her house. LAPD sources confirm that Hanna greeted officers at the door and spoke with a psychological evaluation team.

Who is Gabbie Hanna?

The internet personality has grown a loyal following of fans after first finding fame on now-defunct short-form video platform Vine, which folded in 2017.

That same year, Hanna released a single called ‘Out Loud,’ which was followed up with ‘2WayMirror’ two year later. In 2020 she released ‘Bad Karma’ and finally ‘Trauma Queen’ earlier this year.

But it is through TikTok that her fame has really soared and her account, under the moniker TraumaQueen, focusses on her mental health journey. She also frequently shares content on religion and has published two poetry collections which explored similar themes.

The two books, Adultolescience and Dandelion, have been recognised as New York Times bestsellers.

Before her online fame and creative exploits, Hanna graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in communications and psychology. After graduating she worked for Buzzfeed in Los Angeles, before leaving the company to pursue a social media career full-time.

Fans respond to bizarre TikTok posts

The content shared by Hanna over a 24-hour posting spree concerned many of her 7.5 million followers. Hundreds of commenters left messages on her videos, many of them offering help and calling on the TikToker to contact someone.

‘Gabbie please get some rest, water, and a friend over to talk to. Really worried about you hun this is not Good,’ one fan wrote.

Another agreed: “Gabbie this is real life. You are real. You are alive. Reach out to your sister. or reach out to others. We love and care about you.”

Many also left comments on posts by Hanna’s sister, Cecilia, informing her of what was going on. Cecilia replied by saying that the family was “doing what can be done” but asking for privacy to deal with the situation.

“We are doing what can be done from here. At the end of the day you are all strangers on the internet and it is none of your business regardless of level of concern,” she wrote.
