For those receiving SSI, the average payment for individuals in 2024 is $943, and for couples, it is $1,415. For those receiving SSDI, individuals receive an average of $1,537, while couples receive $2,720.

Social Security payment dates
Payments are issued every Wednesday of the month based on the beneficiary’s date of birth. If the beneficiary’s date of birth falls between the 1st and the 10th of the month, they will receive their payment on the second Wednesday of the month. For beneficiaries born between the 11th and the 20th, the payment will be made on the third Wednesday of the month. Those with a date of birth from the 21st to the 31st will receive the payment on the last Wednesday of the month.
However, if a person retired before May 1997 or is an SSI beneficiary, they will receive their payment during the first days of the month, regardless of their date of birth.
