Who will moderate the first debate between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump?

The hotly anticipated face off will be sure to need a firm hand at the tiller and and ABC have nominated two for the job.

The first presidential debate between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump is set to take place on Tuesday, 10 September at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia.

This highly anticipated event will be moderated by two veteran ABC News journalists: David Muir and Linsey Davis.

The selection comes after extensive negotiations between the campaigns and ABC News. Debates have raged over whether Trump would even come after Biden pulled out of the race and whether candidates microphones would be turned off during proceedings.

For many it is not an enviable task to manage. Given the high stakes of this debate – the only one currently scheduled between Harris and Trump – the pressure on Muir and Davis is immense.

The careers of David Muir and Linsey Davis

David Muir, the anchor and managing editor of “World News Tonight,” brings a wealth of experience to the moderator’s role. Known for his sharp interviewing skills and ability to navigate complex political discussions, Muir has covered numerous elections and claimed important interviews.

He has won a slew of awards for his work such as the Walter Cronkite Award for Excellence in Journalism and multiple Emmy’s.

Joining Muir is Linsey Davis, the anchor of ABC News Live “Prime.” Davis has gained recognition for reporting on social justice issues aswell as her adept handling of political interviews.

She moderated debates during the last electoral cycle of Democrat primaries, so Harris will be aware of her style of debatibng.
