The grounds of Windsor Castle are hosting this Sunday at 8:00 p.m. the concert for the coronation of King Charles III and his wife, Queen Camila. A celebration that is part of the splendor organized to celebrate the enthronement of Elizabeth II’s successor after more than seven decades waiting for his moment.

The event, organized and broadcast by the BBC, features an orchestra that will perform the favorite musical themes of some of the most important artists in the world, to delight the 10,000 attendees and those who will enjoy it streaming.

On the website that the British Government has launched for the coronation, you can already consult the playlist on Spotify for this act. And the names of some of the important artists who will be there have also emerged.

In addition to the world-class orchestra, the concert will also feature some great artists. Among those confirmed are part of the Take That group, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie. Also present will be Italian opera star Andrea Bocelli, Welsh bass-baritone Sir Bryn Terfel, singer-songwriter Freya Ridings and classical soul composer Alexis French.

“This will be our first live show since our last show four years ago, and what a great time to come back”, Gary Barlow, Mark Owen and Howard Donald, the three members of Take That who sing at the festivities said in a statement. Also, Katy Perry said she was “excited” to perform at the event.

The singers who declined the invitation

Sir Elton John, Lady Diana’s close friend, who played at her funeral and was also present through a video at Elizabeth II’s jubilee, will be absent from these events due to scheduling problems, as he put it, since he has to be in Germany. Harry Styles has also declined the invitation for the same reason, since he is on tour. Just like Ed Sheeran, in Texas, and Adele, with closed dates in the United States.

The Spice Girls will not be there either, “lack of time to rehearse”, although it is speculated that the reason has to do with the fact that Victoria Beckham would rather not attend, and focus on her current profession as a designer.

Kylie Minogue is another of those who will not perform, despite her good relationship with the crown. Apparently, according to the Daily Mirror, “Kylie has been an honorary Brit for many, many years, and admires the Royal Family and everything that they do. But she is also a passionate Australian and has read the room in a country that could very soon become a republic.” That feeling by her compatriots made her decline the invitation.
