The funeral service is only for family and invited friends, however, the public is welcome to view the family motorcade from designated areas along the route from the church, down Bond Street, and along Hwy. 280 in downtown Plains. It is requested that everyone respects private property and parks only in designated areas.

At yesterday’s event, the daughter of Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter read a letter written by her father because his health did not allow him to speak at the event. One of the most beautiful quotes from the speech were those that described the love Jimmy had for Rosalynn: “But when I see you I fall in love with you all over again. Does that seem strange to you? It doesn’t to me. Goodbye, darling, until tomorrow.”
