What has Elon Musk said about the change?
Why exactly this change has been made is not yet known.

Reporters at Reuters point to the ongoing legal issues faced by Musk, who stands accused by Dogecoin investors of racketeering. Musk’s legal team has asked that the suit be dismissed, defending their client, describing his tweets about Dogecoin as “innocuous” and “silly.” The investors say that Elon Musk ran a pyramid scheme that allowed him to rake in money by getting his followers on Twitter to purchase the cryptocurrency.
