Why doesn’t Donald Trump like Georgia’s Republican governor Brian Kemp?

Presidential candidate Donald Trump held a political rally in Atlanta to speak to his supporters, and aside from launching the expected attacks on his opponent Vice President Kamala Harris, he also ripped into fellow Republican Governor Brian Kemp.

He’s a bad guy, he’s a disloyal guy, and he’s a very average governor. Little Brian. Little Brian Kemp. Bad guy,” Trump said.

“Atlanta is like a killing field, and your governor ought to get off his ass to do something,” he added.

The insults the former president hurled at the popular governor are not likely to help his campaign, especially considering he lost to President Joe Biden in Georgia by about 12,000 votes in 2020.

Why doesn’t Donald Trump like Georgia’s Republican governor Brian Kemp?

Trump’s loss in the state is what started his feud with Kemp. When the ex-president falsely claimed there was electoral fraud in Georgia, Kemp refused to help him overturn the election results. The governor insisted the 2020 election was not stolen, and that the votes in the state were secure.

The former president was indicted in Georgia for attempting to overturn the results of the vote, and he still harbors a grudge against Kemp for not putting a stop to the proceedings.

“They’re the ones who got (Fulton County District Attorney) Fani Willis and her boyfriend all ‘jazzed up’ and ready to go. He could have ended that travesty with a phone call, but he doesn’t want to end it because he’s a bad guy,” Trump posted on his social media network Truth Social before the Atlanta rally.

In his post, he also lashed out at Kemp’s wife for saying she wasn’t going to endorse him in his current presidential campaign.

What did Georgia Governor Brian Kemp say about Trump’s attacks on him?

Kemp responded to Trump’s tirades through a post on social media.

“My focus is on winning this November and saving our country from Kamala Harris and the Democrats — not engaging in petty personal insults, attacking fellow Republicans, or dwelling on the past,” he said.

You should do the same, Mr. President, and leave my family out of it.
